Applications

Applications lists the applications in the selected environment — each WordPress or Moodle site, its address, and whether it is serving. Select one to see its administrator access.

Open a site

Each application has its own address. The address shown on the application is the one it will answer on:

  • a generated address is created for every application and always keeps working, even while you are setting up a domain of your own;
  • a domain name you own can be attached to one application, and becomes the address visitors use once its ownership and routing checks pass.

See Domains for the full journey.

Sign in to WordPress or Moodle as an administrator

Every application has one administrator credential that Hosting creates and can reset.

  1. Open Hosting → Applications and select the application.
  2. The administrator section shows the sign-in address and the username.
  3. Choose Show password, or choose Set a new password to replace it.

Set a new password changes the credential the environment uses; the application picks it up at the next apply, and the message tells you so. Until that apply finishes, the existing password keeps working — nothing is locked out in between. If somebody changed the password inside the application itself, resetting is the reliable way back in, because a password you changed there is not the password Hosting holds.

Administrator access is full control

The administrator login can install plugins and themes, change content, and read everything the application stores. Share it deliberately.

Which applications you can have

Which application types are available depends on your package — WordPress and Moodle are the current offerings. An application is created for you as part of onboarding; adding a new application to a running environment is a conversation with us (see Support).
