Your company
Your company is the account everything else sits inside: it holds the members, the environments, the names you have claimed and the mail you receive. A person can be a member of more than one company, and each company keeps its own members, names and activity history.
Open Company → Company profile for the profile, Company → Members for the people.
The company profile
The profile shows your Name and your Slug. The slug is the short, stable address of the company — it is what appears in the web address of every page that belongs to it, and it does not change when the name does.
Change the company name
Choose Edit company. The dialog says the same thing before you save: the company name can change, its slug stays the same. Type the new name and choose Save changes.
Changing the name does not change the company's slug, so the address of your company — and of everything inside it — stays where it was.
The company logo and favicon
The profile also carries your Company logo and your Favicon. Choose Upload company logo or Upload favicon to add one, Replace to swap it, and Remove to take it away. The current image stays in place until the new one has been accepted, so a failed upload never leaves you with nothing.
The favicon is the small icon browsers and bookmarks show for your pages; the logo is the larger image.
Your own backup bucket
The profile's last section is Your own backup bucket. Backups already go to our bucket, which our retention promises cover. Pointing them at your own S3-compatible bucket as well gives you a second copy that you hold and can expire yourself. It is never the copy we restore from.
Fill in the Endpoint, Bucket, Region and, optionally, the Folder inside the bucket, together with the Access key ID and Secret access key. Both credentials are asked for on every save, because neither is ever shown back to you — so we cannot fill them in for you.
Start copying to it now decides whether anything is written to the bucket yet. Left unticked, the destination is recorded and copies nothing until you tick it. Choose Save destination to record it, and Remove destination to stop writing new copies; the copies already written stay in your bucket, and our own copy and its retention are unaffected.
Members
Company → Members lists the people with direct access to this company, with their Name, Email, Role and the date they Joined. The Search names box narrows the list, and you can sort it by name or email.
A member's role decides what they can do in Hosting. Company Admin is the administrator role; Company Member is the ordinary one.
A role that includes the browser tools also reaches the environment's databases: the database tool opens every application database in the environment as that application's own user, can change and delete that data, and asks for no separate database password.
Choose a member's name to open their detail, which shows their email, their role in this company and when they joined.
Invite someone
Choose Invite member. Give the person's Name, their Email and the Role they should have, then choose Send invitation. The page tells you when the invitation email has been queued.
Access begins when the recipient accepts, not when you send the invitation.
Change a role
Choose Change role beside a member, pick the role, and choose Save role. The new role applies to that person's access in this company from then on.
Remove someone
Choose Remove beside a member and confirm. The membership is removed from this company, and the person's own global account remains — it is not deleted.
Removing a member does not remove any SFTP/SSH access user they were given. Those are separate credentials with no link to the account, so review and remove them yourself — see SFTP & SSH access.
Invitations
The Invitations view lists the invitations that have not been accepted yet, with the Name, Email, Role and the date they Expire.
Recipients have no access until they accept. Choose Resend to send the invitation again: that replaces the previous link and renews its expiry, so the old link stops working. Choose Cancel invitation to stop an invitation entirely — the link stops working, and no account or existing membership is removed.
A Company Admin can review and resend pending invitations. If you are not one, the page says so.
Accepting an invitation
An invitation arrives as a link to a page that names the company, the role you were invited with and the email address the invitation was sent to. The page also says when the invitation expires.
- If you are not signed in, choose Sign in to accept, or Create an account if you do not have one. Use the invited email address: after registering, verify your email and return to the invitation.
- If you are signed in as somebody else, the page tells you which address you are signed in as and which one the invitation is for. Choose Sign in with another account to switch.
- If your email address is not verified yet, the page asks you to verify it first and links to your account settings. Come back to the invitation afterwards.
Once everything matches, choose Accept invitation. You are then a member of the company and land on its members list.
